Pay-As-You-Go Virtual Assistant Services
What is Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) Virtual Assistant Plan on RemoteDraft?
Pay-As-You-Go virtual assistant service plan is designed for one-off, on-demand tasks you want completed quickly by RemoteDraft assistants, without needing to commit to a weekly or monthly subscription.
Think of it as your flexible VA support line: you request a task, we assign it to one of our qualified assistants, and the time used is deducted transparently from your PAYG balance.
Simple Rule: PAYG works best for short, self-contained tasks.
If a task needs ongoing continuity or regular involvement of the same assistant, it’s better suited for one of our Regular Plans (10, 20, or 40 hours per week).
Tasks Not Suitable for PAYG
Some tasks need continuity, deeper knowledge, or a dedicated assistant. These are better handled under Regular Plans.
Examples include:
Ongoing social media management (daily or weekly posting and engagement).
Long-term or multi-phase projects requiring repeated handovers.
Continuous email/diary management.
CRM and database upkeep.
Complex technical, legal, or financial tasks.
Any task requiring the same assistant every time.
Examples of Tasks Ideal for PAYG
1. Short Research Tasks
Examples:
– Finding 10–20 business contacts and their emails,
– Gathering a quick list of competitors,
– Checking current market rates for a service.
Why it fits PAYG: It’s a clearly defined, one-time research activity that can be completed in a few hours.
2. One-Off Administrative Tasks
Examples:
– Calendar setup: Adding appointments into your calendar, syncing calendars across devices, or setting up one-time reminders.
– Single event scheduling: Booking a meeting room, sending invites, and managing RSVPs for one event.
– Travel booking: Researching flight options and booking one round trip for you.
Why it fits PAYG: These are discrete, one-time administrative actions.
When it becomes Regular: If you want ongoing diary management, recurring meeting scheduling, or continuous travel support (particularly when there is need to remember or reference what was done by another VA the previous time), that’s Regular Plan territory.
3. Email Triage (One-Time)
Examples:
– Clearing a cluttered inbox,
– Flagging important emails, or
– Filing one batch of messages into folders.
Why it fits PAYG: It’s a contained cleanup activity that starts and ends within a session.
4. Data Entry & Spreadsheet Updates
Examples:
– Entering 200 survey results into a sheet,
– Updating contact info in a single dataset.
Why it fits PAYG: It’s a finite dataset with a clear “done” point that can be done within a day’s work.
5. Document Formatting, Editing, or Conversion
Examples:
– Formatting a proposal into a professional template,
– Editing a CV, converting a presentation into PDF.
Why it fits PAYG: It’s a single document with a start and finish.
When it becomes Regular: If you have ongoing document creation, multiple drafts needing the same VA’s oversight, or recurring editing needs, then a Regular Plan is more appropriate.
6. Social Media Posts (One-Off)
Examples:
– Creating 3 Instagram posts for a campaign,
– Formatting a LinkedIn article, or
– Scheduling a one-time batch of tweets.
Why it fits PAYG: One set of posts that can be done within a short period not exceeding a day’s work.
When it becomes Regular: If you need ongoing posting, audience engagement, or content strategy, that requires continuity.
7. Light Website Updates
Examples:
– Updating copy on one web page,
– Uploading a blog article, or
– Changing a banner image.
Why it fits PAYG: A small, self-contained update.
When it becomes Regular: If you want ongoing site management, multiple updates every week, or deeper development, that requires dedicated VA (Regular Plan).
8. Short Reports or Presentations
Examples:
– Summarizing an article into a 2-page report, or
– Preparing a short deck with information you provide.
Why it fits PAYG: It’s a one-off deliverable that starts and finishes quickly.
What About Follow-Ups?
PAYG can sometimes cover light follow-ups, as long as you, the client, provides full context in the new request.
For example:
First task = formatting a CV.
Follow-up task = updating the CV with 2 new roles (CV to be updated is attached in the follow-up request).
This still qualifies for PAYG because it is small and self-contained, and doesn’t need the same assistant that handled the first task.
But if the follow-up becomes part of an ongoing relationship, we’ll recommend upgrading to a Regular Plan so you have a dedicated Virtual Assistant.
How PAYG Works
1. Send your task request through the form on your client dashboard or to the email address provided there.
2. Standard requests must be submitted at least 48 hours in advance.
– Rush requests (12–48 hours) are accepted at 1.5× billing. That means that, for a task that takes 1 hour, 1.5 hours will be deducted.
– Requests under 12 hours cannot be accepted.
3. We assign the task to a qualified VA and confirm your request.
4. The VA completes the task and logs the time.
– Billing is in 1-hour increments, rounded up.
– Example: a task taking 1h 10m is billed as 2 hours.
5. You’ll receive an email summary showing:
– Task completed
– Hours deducted (and multiplier, if any)
– Your updated PAYG balance
